What is a Public Adjuster?
What can a Public Adjuster do for Me?

Few people know what to do once they incur a loss from fire, water, wind storm or theft to their home or business. Their only frame of reference is happy, smiling faces of actors in insurance commercials hyping up good hands, or being on your side. They are lead to believe the remedy for their disaster is just to call the insurance company—to turn everything over to them. It just doesn’t work that way. There are things your insurance company may not have told you.

Insurance is a huge business. Dealing with insurable damage to your structure and contents is far different from dealing with auto, health, or other types of insurance you have experience with, and insurance companies handle it differently too.

Like other businesses, insurance companies control costs. They hire and train employees with varying experience. The adjuster sent to evaluate your loss does not represent you, and isn’t rewarded by maximizing the amount of damages paid. The same is true for contractors sent by the insurance company. They become favored contractors by charging the insurance company less, not necessarily by doing the best job to rebuild or restore your property. Cutting corners, underestimating, “forgetting”, rushing… we see it all the time. The result is you do not get all your policy guarantees. You leave money for repairs behind, and while your property may be restored “okay”, it is never the best it can be.

That’s why we are Public Adjusters. The bottom line is we take money away from insurance companies and put it in the hands of our clients, and we are very, very good at it. Why should that be important to you? By taking control away from your insurance company and representing your interests rather than the insurance company’s, you will get a better settlement for your loss.
